The trailhead begins at a newly constructed park area, off of Bayhaven Drive, and circles a Carolina Bay lying within the community.

Carolina Bays are unique and fascinating ecological areas, found most frequently in S.C. and N.C. (“Google it” on the web!).

This trail is meant to provide an enjoyable walk along the edge of the Bay, and behind scenic lakes also bordering the trail.

Responding to the requests of residents for improved communications dealing with homeowner association Young woman surfing the web... topics and homeowner questions to the developer, Waterford Partners has committed to fund design and implementation of a new Homeowner Association (HOA) website.

Design and content decisions are now being made under the guidance of your two resident elected HOA Board members.

The new site will allow posting of all pertinent HOA documents, such as Covenants & Restrictions, as well as Modifications Committee guidelines.

In addition, a “Fact & Question” portion of the site will allow residents to ask questions, and then the related responses will be posted for the benefit of the entire community.

The site will be designed so as to allow it to be expandable in the future, as may be desired by the community.

Construction activity this year within Waterford Plantation is proceeding at a record pace. The forecast for completed homes by year-end is 51. This pace is expected to continue for several years to come, as residents continue to relocate into this popular and well-regarded neighborhood. Property values reflect the popularity of the community as they continue to increase each year.

The latest phase to be completed within Waterford Plantation has begun to close home sites with contracted purchasers. Of the total of 53 home sites, only six remain unsold and it is expected that this balance will be closed by Thanksgiving.

The next phase of home sites is now under construction, with closing on home sites anticipated by year’s end, subject to weather this Fall. This large new phase will contain 67 home sites. Since its release for sale in June, 27 home sites have been sold. This phase represents the next to last residential neighborhood to be released into the Waterford community. With this in mind, if residents have any friends or family who might want to join our neighborhood in the future, they should be encouraged to register with the sales office to insure that they are kept up to date on sales releases and progress.

Extensive Lanscaping Added To Common Areas...

Waterford Plantation’s development company (Waterford Partners) recently added extensive landscaping to a number of key common areas within the neighborhood. Many trees and shrubs were added to the grounds surrounding the pool and fitness center. In addition, a small park with landscaping was added as the trailhead to our new nature trail. A significantly larger park area was also added, with gazebo and seating, at the corner of Westwind & Bayhaven Drives. This is the first of a series of landscaping additions, which will be phased into the common areas of Waterford, on an ongoing basis. Landscape additions are part of the continuing commitment by Waterford Partners to support and enhance Waterford’s growing popularity and reputation as Myrtle Beach’s “Favorite Family Neighborhood”.
